Information on LED Light Bars

The most common question we get asked is 'How can you tell the difference between cheap, low quality light bars and high quality, super tough light bars? 

Our answer is simple: It's actually pretty difficult to know without having experience in LED Lighting Technology! Aside from the rugged exterior of the lights, you've also got to understand the type of LED Chip, the type of onboard controller but most importantly - it has to have a really good heat sync on there! And just like a computer, it's heatsync needs to be applied to the circuit board with thermal compound - something the cheaper light bars seem to miss, causing them to overheat and only last a few months. 

Another thing to look at is the lens used to focus the light. Many cheaper light bars just ignore this very vital part, giving LED light bars a bad wrap online! So to stick with the basics, look for a light bar with a large heatsync, CREE LED's with shinny and finished looking focus lenses. Generally you get what you pay for with LED Light Bars.
